Edit the page sample

The seven curated starters are served by Plainview. Selecting a family marked Google requests the chosen family and weight from Google Fonts, which receives normal network request details. Your sample text stays in this tab and is not added to that request.

Field notes for better websites

Useful typography starts with a clear reading job.

Pair a distinctive heading face with body text that stays comfortable across paragraphs, labels, and smaller screens.

Use this preview to compare hierarchy and rhythm in context. A pairing is an editorial starting point—not a guarantee. Test the final type at real sizes, with your own content, languages, devices, and performance budget.

ImplementationGoogle Fonts link + CSS

This copied link loads the chosen files from Google. For stronger visitor privacy, download and self-host the fonts under each family's license.

Pairings are editorial starting points, not compatibility or accessibility scores. Test glyph coverage, loading, wrapping, zoom, and real content before launch.

Judge the system

A font pair has to survive the real page.

A specimen can look polished while the actual interface feels cramped, weak, or noisy. Compare the pair with your own words, then validate it in the final layout.

  • Hierarchy: headings should lead without overpowering the reading copy.
  • Rhythm: test wrapping, line height, labels, buttons, and long paragraphs.
  • Coverage: confirm the characters and languages your audience needs.
  • Delivery: request only the families and weights the published page uses.
  • Access: test zoom, text spacing, contrast, and narrow screens separately.

Reviewed August 26, 2026. Plainview Tools serves the seven curated starters from its own site, and the full catalog is a local snapshot loaded only when you open a font browser. Selecting a family labeled Google requests CSS from fonts.googleapis.com and font files from fonts.gstatic.com. The request identifies the selected family and weight but does not include your sample text.
