The website build

A place to watch, discover and take the next step.

A visitor might arrive for a short animal video, return to a favorite creator, or look for a shelter. The website gives those different interests a clear path through one connected platform.

Discovery with useful choices

Search, filters and themed playlists help people narrow a growing video library. Creator pages, live channels and a separate Instagram section offer other ways to explore.

Resources beyond the video

Practical guides and a searchable shelter directory connect everyday curiosity with useful information. Organization profiles and saved shortlists help visitors plan their next step.

Inside the website

Different searches, a familiar experience.

The video library offers choices by format, collection, animal and length. The shelter directory brings location search, organization profiles and practical guidance together.

A closer look

Keep a shortlist without a signup.

Saving a useful video or shelter gives visitors a way to return to something they found. Where Animals Shine makes that action available without creating an account.

The implemented choice

Favorites and shelter shortlists stay in the visitor's browser. The saved shelters page loads current public directory details when opened, so the shortlist leads back to the organization information rather than preserving an old copy as if it were current.

The tradeoff

These lists do not sync across devices and can be lost if the saved browser data is cleared. An account-based list could support syncing and account recovery, but would introduce sign-in and account management. The current site states the browser-only limit where visitors use their saved items.

Connected features

Give people a reason to explore—and a way to return.

Creator profiles and curated collections

Dedicated creator pages connect introductions, selected videos and original-channel links. Playlists and editorial roundups give individual moments a wider context.

Favorites without an account

Visitors can save favorite videos, follow creators and keep shelter shortlists in their browser. The site explains that these choices stay on that browser rather than syncing between devices.

Guides built for reading and use

Educational articles include clear sections, contents navigation, FAQs and references. A printable shelter-visit checklist turns one guide into something readers can take with them.

Thoughtful media and signup choices

Featured media credits its original creators and platforms. Optional Instagram loading and a newsletter signup with email confirmation make the next action clear.
