HTML Metadata Inspector

See what your HTML says about a page. Find missing or conflicting metadata, review relative URLs and JSON-LD syntax, and save a report for the next update.

Start with the page source

See the metadata you have.

Paste source or upload a UTF-8 file up to 512 KiB. A successfully read file replaces this HTML. Include the complete document when possible; missing values in a fragment do not establish what the full page contains.
An absolute HTTP(S) address used to interpret relative links where supported. This address is never requested. Sharing-image URLs should be absolute.

Your HTML is read as text in this tab. The inspector does not run scripts, load images, visit URLs or save your input.

How to use the result

Read the markup. Check the published page.

Paste HTML or upload a UTF-8 file to review its title, description, canonical link, robots instructions, Open Graph/X fields and JSON-LD blocks. Add the page URL when relative addresses need context; the inspector does not open that address.

Review every occurrence and its source location. Repeated images, locale alternatives and JSON-LD blocks can be intentional. Conflicting single-value fields and crawler instructions need context before changing the page. HTML parsing can repair malformed document structure; source line buttons point into the text you supplied.

This checks supplied source only. It cannot see response headers, JavaScript changes, crawler access, search indexing or cached social cards. JSON syntax checks do not establish Schema.org validity or eligibility for a search feature. Continue with the JSON-LD walkthrough or the sharing-image and metadata guide for the next publishing checks.

HTML is parsed as text in this tab. Scripts and linked resources are not run or loaded. Input is not uploaded or stored by the tool; closing or refreshing the page clears it. Reports contain entered metadata, URLs and embedded JSON-LD, so review them before sharing.

Limits: 512 KiB (524,288 bytes) of UTF-8 HTML, 5,000 elements, 20,000 parsed nodes, 500 metadata declarations and 2,000 findings. JSON-LD is limited to 50 blocks, with 128 KiB and 20,000 values per block. HTML and JSON nesting are limited to 128 levels; the optional page URL allows 2,048 characters. Oversized input is rejected rather than silently cut down.

The interface shows up to 200 matching findings and declarations at a time. Complete bounded reports can be copied or downloaded as Markdown or JSON. JSON-LD and report previews are shortened only when their displayed character limits are reached; exports retain the complete values.
